Publicity
Through the Japan Advertising Council, free advertisements in national newspapers,
magazines, television, and radio publicize our toll-free numbers that can be
called
to learn
more about JCV's activities. JCV mails brochures and other information to callers
along with a deposit form for
their contributions to a JCV bank account. |

Charity Events
Funds are raised through a variety of charity events in which local participation
is encouraged among volunteer groups, private companies, municipalities and schools.
Since JCV's creation, almost 3 million people have attended events at which the
president of JCV, Kayoko Hosokawa, promoted local volunteer activities. In addition,
JCV has supported the efforts of school and women's groups to raise funds by
collecting various prepaid cards at charity concerts, dinners and flea
markets. |

Prepaid cards, unused postal stamps
are converted to donations
Various used or unused prepaid cards, such as telephone cards, highway toll cards,
and bus cards used in Japan, are of value to overseas collectors. These cards
are converted into cash at the market price. |

Donation by Telephone
To make it easier for people to contribute without having to visit a bank or
post office, JCV has gained the cooperation of the telephone company in setting
up a system that allows callers to contribute 300 ($2.50) any hour of the day
by dialing the number from their home telephone. |
